What’s Your Pleasure?

“Writing is easy: All you do is sit staring at a blank sheet of paper until drops of blood form on your forehead.”
— Gene Fowler

Almost two years ago I started writing this weekly blog. Sometimes I am bursting with enthusiasm for an idea I must share with you all. Sometimes a propitious germ of an idea drops into my world at just the right time to form the heart of a post. Other times client

questions from my daily work make it clear that people might like to know more about something, so that provides a starting point. But there are times when I truly feel at a loss for a topic. It is amazing that, with the entire world as a treasure trove of subject matter, I just can’t seem to find anything to write about.

But I have been overlooking my best resource: You, gentle readers.

What would you like me to write about in the coming weeks? I would love to hear from you with any and all suggestions for topics for future posts.

If you cannot think of what to suggest, consider whether any of these would appeal to you.

Would you like to read information about particular destinations, whether tried and true or “emerging” as popular new hot spots? (Which ones in particular?)

Would you rather read advice on best practices when traveling? (Such as…?)

Do you prefer to hear my comments (or rants) on cultural issues? (Or observations about the value of travel, cultural interface, exposure to different ways of doing things?)

Do you want more about arts and literature, especially as they tie into travel and destinations?

What kinds of things have I been overlooking?

Do you want to hear more about philosophy of travel as it affects your life?

I truly appreciate your readership and want to write things you will find helpful and enjoyable. This is your chance to tweak the subject selection and to offer advice, solicited for your own benefit.

Writing weekly has been a much more enjoyable discipline for me than I feared it would be. I was confident the first few weeks would seem easy because I was bursting with ideas. Since then, there have been some weeks when I feel that I am rummaging in the back of the closet for something, anything, to turn into a blog post. (I hope that the scrounging weeks have not been obvious!)

But back to the question at hand. What would you like to read about more often? Is there content you need? Or want more of? Or enjoy most?

Please comment  on this post with your observations and ideas. I cannot promise to cover all of the suggestions, but I will at the very least figure them into the mix of topics during the coming months.

Thank you all so very much for sticking with me and humoring me, even occasionally. I truly appreciate your readership!
